EGV Business Excellence Awards Recognize Three Local Companies
On October 21, 2014, the 2nd annual Made in Elk Grove Manufacturing & Technology Expo drew more than 1,000 registered attendees and nearly 100 exhibitors, providing a snapshot of the wide array of manufacturing capabilities within Elk Grove Business Park.
The networking event also was the backdrop for the first-ever Made in Elk Grove Business Excellence Awards, which recognized leadership in the areas of Innovation, Sustainability, and Community Support.
Three Elk Grove Village-based manufacturing companies were honored:
Innovation: Crafts Technology
The Innovation Award went to Crafts Technology, which manufactures tooling and components designed to withstand severe abrasion and corrosion with the use of ultra-hard materials. The company has developed a new material technology to help injection molders reduce a part of the production cycle by 40 percent or more.
Sustainability: Lawrence Foods
The Sustainability Award was presented to Lawrence Foods, a broad line manufacturer of bakery products and customized ingredient solutions. The company has implemented a sustainability plan over the past three years, improving manufacturing efficiencies while reducing waste. They have reduced electricity use by 25 percent, natural gas use by 10-37 percent, water use by 450,000 gallons, and they recycle over 400 tons a year.
Community Support: E-M Metal Fabricator
The Community Support Award went to E-M Metal Fabricator, which provides contract precision manufacturing services and prototyping to production services. Gladys Moscoso, President, is active in her local church, provides financial assistance to local religious charitable organizations, and her company donated funds to a medical organization assisting those in need overseas.
Congratulations to all the winners!
