Each year, the Made in Elk Grove Manufacturing & Technology Expo draws local exhibitors from the #1 Business Park in the United States and throughout the village. At the 2022 Expo, Mayor Craig B. Johnson was joined by NASCAR driver and owner of KAM (Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing), Brad Keselowski, to present a handful of exemplary companies with Business Excellence Awards recognizing their contributions to Innovation, Sustainability, Community Support, and Industrial Development.

Broetje Automation (Excellence in Innovation), Creative Werks (Excellence in Sustainability), Acme Industries (Excellence in Community Support), and Steiner Electric (Industrial Development of the Year) were presented with this year’s coveted awards.

“Many of the exhibitors here have done a ton to support the local community,” said Mark Wolverton, an educator from the Society of Plastics Engineers. “Acme Industries is just one of the businesses that has done a great job of giving students an opportunity to get experience in this industry, which is what we need to rebuild interest in manufacturing careers.”

The opportunity to network with leaders in those companies also attracts hundreds of attendees each year. In its ninth year, this Expo was no different. In fact, a line of eager attendees gathered before the exhibition floor opened at Elk Grove High School, excited to meet potential suppliers and partners in precision machining, plastics, electronics, food, and industrial services.

“The Expo provided a great opportunity to meet local businesses and discuss ways in which we can help each other to grow,” one attendee said after the event.
